This project is located in Sunnyvale, California, and transformed an existing one-story 1,100 square foot home into a two-story 2,600 square foot home. Keeping the existing three bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor intact, we added a master bedroom suite with a walk-in closet on the second floor and increased the entertaining spaces on the first floor. With an open floor plan goal in mind, we created an open, yet connected, kitchen, living, and dining room in the back with folding patio doors to the backyard. Did we mention that we have vaulted ceilings in the dining room and the master bedroom? On top of it all, we also found room to add a mud room, laundry room and powder room on the first floor.
